How we do it?
Lectures, seminars, workshops, practicals and tutorials provide a framework within which you are expecting to explore your subject and assocate with yourself. Your are engaged in activities which help you to gain confidence. At times, there will be more emphasis on independent study, with academic staff on hand to support and guide your efforts. Initially you may find this very challenging, but it is also rewarding, and develops learning skills that will help you to stand in good stead in your coming future career.

Our approach towards teaching
Science and Management education involve a significant amount of teamwork. Several Industries where students find employment emphasize the need for a "team player with good interpersonal skills". For this purpose, we at K.N.I., incorporate projects involving student groups, which provide students with vital opportunities to effectively work as a team. These projects are useful learning tools where the students assimilate and implement all the concepts they have learned in the classroom to bring the project to fruition, write a report and make a presentation. The students sometimes need monitoring not only in the technical aspects of the project but also in group interaction and effective teamwork. We ensure that this monitoring is forthcoming from our teachers. While the team work and interpersonal skills are acquired through experience but the teacher at K.N.I. plays a crucial role in identifying their position in a dynamic group. Teachers discuss various teamwork-related problems that the students might encounter and guide them through the process.
Technology offers useful tools and we utilize them effectively. We feel that "seeing is believing" so audio-visual aids like using power point slides for lectures, providing hand outs, showing video clips to emphasize important points, and using multi-media are effective.

Haridwar is such a wonderful place to be in for people of my age. A short-drive away is the Assan barrage that offers water sking, kayaking and bird watching. Even white water rafting, rock climbing can be short-day trips. And then of course we have much grander possibilities like snow-skiing at Auli and mountaineering expenditions in the mighty Himalayas.
